Anderson Anderson Architecture
Mark and Peter Anderson's research-intensive architecture and construction work has been recognized with numerous international awards and exhibitions, and is widely published throughout the world. Based in San Francisco, their firm Anderson Anderson Architecture has designed and built hundreds of projects in America, Asia and Europe, ranging in size and place from urban master planning in Wuhan; goat housing in Tuscany; flood control prototypes in New Orleans; multi-media gallery space in San Francisco; and experimental housing in many corners of the United States and Japan. Their work combines specialized technical experience in construction and prefabricated structural systems coupled with a critical eye to broader cultural questions and large-scale environmental issues addressed in their work. Several of their building proposals and a series of short films have been recently exhibited at The Venice Biennale and at The Museum of Modern Art in New York. Two recent books on their work are available from Princeton Architectural Press: Anderson Anderson, Architecture and Construction (2001), and Prefab Prototypes, Site-Specific Design for Off-Site Construction (2007). Mark Anderson teaches at the University of California, Berkeley; and Peter Anderson teaches at California College of The Arts, in San Francisco.
