Back in 2021, the town of Greenville in California was tragically destroyed by the Dixie Fire. Since then, we’ve been deeply committed to projects that help the community rebuild their homes and preserve their cherished memories. One such effort is the restoration of the town’s beloved museum, which was also lost in the fire. The new museum honors the original by maintaining its timeless aesthetic, preserving the history and memories it represents. At the same time, it has been reimagined with resilience and sustainability at its core. Featuring solid nail-laminated timber (NLT) walls, floors, and roof panels, as well as a mass timber frame structure, the building is designed to resist future fires while actively sequestering carbon–helping to reduce greenhouse gases and support a more sustainable future. The new museum stands as a tribute to the past and a vision for the future, embodying the enduring spirit of Greenville.
