Reem Makkawi joined Anderson Anderson in 2018. Her work has focused on Revit BIM modeling for steel & timber prefabricated systems, steel modular construction, and experimental representation and animation techniques. She is passionate not only about nuts-and-bolts construction details and project management in architecture practice, but also pursues research in art, architecture & urban history. Her ongoing research projects and publications focus on pre-historic to post-colonial Middle East & North Africa. She is frequently a design critic for studio and construction seminar reviews at UC Berkeley and California College of the Arts.
